The International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association has received the 2026 Incredible Impacts Programme Seed Fund Grant for a congress legacy project addressing inequalities in liver cancer care.
Awarded by BestCities Global Alliance and ICCA, the US$5,000 grant supports early-stage initiatives designed to create lasting benefits through international meetings. A separate US$20,000 Main Grant recognises projects with an established record of impact.
IHPBA will launch its project alongside the 17th IHPBA World Congress, taking place in Singapore from 28 to 31 October 2026 in partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board. The initiative aims to reduce disparities in hepatocellular carcinoma outcomes in low- and middle-income countries through locally adapted frameworks, regional collaboration and policy leadership.
Dr Shridhar Iyer, Congress President and Chair of the legacy project, said: “Our ambition is to move beyond discussion towards practical solutions that improve access, strengthen regional partnerships, and leave a legacy that continues long after the Congress has concluded.”
The award reflects the Incredible Impacts Programme’s broader aim of recognising association meetings that deliver social, economic or environmental value beyond their immediate programme.
BestCities and ICCA have also named three finalists for the 2026 Main Grant: the Autism Europe Congress 2025, the International Social Housing Festival 2025 and the WindEurope Annual Event 2025. They will present their projects during the ICCA Congress in November.
